Community Rotation

I was lucky to find the experiences I did during my community rotation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  I completed a handful of webinars on WIC, pediatrics, gut health, and malnutrition to further my education on those topics to better serve my community.

Nutrition With Confidence, Private Practice in Toms River, NJ

• Learned how to use different software programs such as Practice Better, to better serve clients in a private practice setting.

• Witnessed motivational interviewing in a private practice setting.

• Helped create a holiday newsletter for RD's clients.

Escambia County Schools in Pensacola, FL 

• Assisted in wellness board creation

• Traveled to multiple schools to do cafeteria checks

Baptist Hospital's outpatient Bariatric Weight Loss Clinic.

• Counseled patients in their journey's before and after bariatric surgery. 

ShopRite in Lyndhurst, NJ 

• Prepared nutrition education lesson for developmentally disabled adults and seniors.

• Conducted community assessment of community resources for partnerships in the Lyndhurst area for the Lyndhurst ShopRite.

• Helped create a flyer for ShopRite RD advertisement.
